Desktop Seagull 2 (2012)

The artist David Jablonowski invited me to participate in his exhibition at Galerie Fons Welters (Amsterdam, June 2012) with the inclusion of two typographic books produced in 1986 and 1987. Jablonowski designed an elegant structure for these works: a piece of furniture for reading.

From a review of the exhibition by Matthew Rana, published online in Frieze (July 17, 2012): “Desktop Seagull 2, Michael Corris, an abstract steel sculpture that looks like two birds in flight, supporting two books by Art & Language member Michael Corris. The books themselves include statements on institutions, the rights of art-workers and the production of meaning in art works… Rich and charged with an acerbic wit…”
